DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING
In this edit, I will work alongside you to understand and clarify your unique authorial voice and style while helping you transform your work into its most perfect version. This means taking a close look at the core of your narrative and how the overarching structure and language interacts with and affects the overall story.
This service includes a comprehensive editorial note, as well as in-line edits, that focus on providing you with quality, solution-based feedback
Substantive / Line Editing: $40–45/hr
Developmental Editing: $45–50/hr
COPYEDITING
In this service, I will go through your work with a fine-toothed comb, citing any issues I see or questions I might have and working with you to solidify your authorial voice and style.
I will provide you with clear in-line feedback, a style sheet, as well as an editorial note and am happy to work on paper using traditional copyeditor markings or Microsoft Word’s track changes. I am familiar with professional style manuals such as Chicago Manual of Style and The Associated Press Stylebook.
Basic Copyediting: $30–35/hr
Heavy Copyediting: $35–40/hr
PROOFREADING
After all stages of development, copyediting, and design have been completed, it’s time for a manuscript to be proofread. As a proofreader, my goal is to ensure the absolute correctness of your manuscript on a technical level while keeping your style and voice intact.
